(Impatiens biflora)

Description:
Annual, tall, branching, slender stems, somewhat translucent,
smooth and slightly glaucous. Leaves, thin, ovate oval, toothed,
tender green color. Orange-yellow flowers are slipper-shaped with
red spots. Eastern, central areas in low-lying, wet shady soil.
Edible,
Medicinal: Succulent stems edible, young shoots, up to 6 in,
boiled for 10-15 min in 2 changes of water, served as a cooked
green. Do not drink the cooking water. Crushed leaves or juice
from the stem poulticed on Poison Ivy for the rash or the sting
of nettles, bite. bruises, burns, cuts, eczema , sores , sprains,
warts, ringworm.
