FEVERFEW

Description:
Perennial, with round, leafy, branching stems. Leaves, alternate,
bipinnate with ovate, hoary green leaflets. Daisy-like flowers,
yellow disks and 10-20 white, toothed rays. Throughout world,
in waste places and along roadsides, escaped from cultivation.
MEDICINAL:
Leaves, used to relax blood vessels, reduce inflammation, a mild
sedative, for some migraines, arthritis swelling. A tea for irregular
periods, to cleanse uterus after childbirth. Warm infusion of
leaves for colic, wind, indigestion, colds, fevers and alcoholic
d.t.'s. The cold extract has a tonic effect. Flowers have a purgative
action.
